As Danny consults a psychic to solve the murder of a young boy, Frank is at odds with the mayor over how best to protect the city from an uptick in crime following a high-profile shooting. Also, Erin investigates a decades-old case in which the primary eyewitness to the killing is her boss, D.A. Kimberly Crawford, who was 13 years old at the time.
Description
The series follows the family's drama, both on the job and off. Frank, the father, is the strong leader of the family's law enforcement tradition. Danny is the tough military veteran who isn't above using brutality to get the job done, which sometimes puts him at odds with his less violent colleagues. Erin is a driven assistant district attorney who has to fight to get criminals off the streets. And Jamie is brilliant youngest son who gave up a chance at high paying job in order to be a cop. When Jamie gets involved in an investigation that even Frank doesn't know about, the whole structure of the family is put in jeopardy.
Blue Bloods generally follows the formula of the police drama/procedural genre. The series has received generally lukewarm reviews from critics. Audiences have been more positive about the series, however. Ratings for the series have been consistent, and Blue Bloods has been one of the most successful series for CBS since debut in 2010. Its tenth season aired in 2019 and early 2020. The series will return for an eleventh season, but the release date of the series remains uncertain because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
